Modules interface field wiring from classified areas to a PLC or control system in a safe area. This eliminates the need for conventional intrinsic safety barriers, and cuts wiring and termination costs by as much as 50%. Includes modular backplane bus with integrated voltage supply and bus communication in three standard versions for 18, 9 or 5 modules. Redundant power supplies provide enhanced system availability; devices can be exchanged during operation.
