Bottle Inspection

Bottle cap inspection confirms that each bottle is capped completely before it is packaged. After bottles are filled and capped, they are conveyed under the WORLD-BEAM Q12 sensor at close range, before they are packed in cartons. The Q12 sensor, operating in fixed-field mode, detects missing or misaligned caps—regardless of color—and triggers the line to reject uncapped bottles.Because the sensor uses fixed-field mode, it responds when a cap is not at the exact distance from the sensor that it should be.

Bottle fill inspection makes sure that a fill tube has not broken off and fallen into a bottle in a beverage packaging operation causing the liquid to squirt onto the line rather than filling subsequent bottles. A PresencePLUS P4 EDGE vision sensor can detect the tube in a bottle, signaling the line to shut down so the problem can be corrected.

Bottle neck thread inspection verifies that threads on the necks of bottles are formed completely. The PresencePLUS Pro vision sensor finds the neck of the bottle using the Locate tool, and then uses the Edge tool to check that the threads are present and at the correct distance from the neck surface. If the threads are too short, the PresencePLUS Pro fails the part.

Proximity sensors can detect presence or absence of cap or containers.
